Radio is a good thing for understand outside world in developing contries. Cheaper than other medias ...
the problem is that those who listen to the radio every day to get information as you mentioned are not well educated people, those BBC & CNN are definitely not their priority, Khmer is instead; therefore what they listen is what the controlling party & government wants them to listen.
In Cambodia's countryside don't have enough electricity power, the Radio was the popular media for local villigers. Have B.B.C branch station " This is B.B.C in PP, FM 100". A.B.C News also.
Radio is a good thing for understand outside world in developing contries. Cheaper than other medias, and no need too much electric power, espacially in Camboida's contryside areas, since electric power transmission line are not enough to reach the villages. Cheap and low cost power, there have BBC and ABC News's branch station in Cambodia. Only using FM can listen the clear voice.
